Found another Cuban cuisine establishment, this time in Old Gretna by way of Yelpers. I ordered another Cuban Sandwich and the special for today, the Cuban Jr. for a friend lol.
The Cuban Jr. special comes with your choice of fries or onion rings plus a drink for $8. Not bad!
So this is a very warm atmosphere (temperature wise) but the cashier/server is also very nice and friendly. I'm just wondering if they have an AC. Oh wow, wait a minute now. Just as I was typing this is, she turned on the AC. Now I'm thinking you also get mind reading services with the special lol.
I will say, this place is extremely clean and I love that. Now for the food, drum roll please: AHHHMAZING! This is what a Cuban sandwich is suppose to be. As soon as I bit into it, I was like, Oh yeah, they nailed it. The meat is moist inside and has that unforgettable crunchy bread on the outside. Yes!! Will definitely return. Real deal Holyfield here! -

Soooooo we stumbled upon this cute mom & pop shop through Yelp. We weren't super hungry but definitely could grab a bite. Yeah, we're greedy....I know.
We ordered the specialty Cuban sandwich (not the original) & some yummy crispy crochets.
SO. DAMN. GOOD.
Whatever authentic Cuban sandwich you think you had....throw it away. Warm, simple, flavorful, & cheesy. This place is it! What makes it even better is the authentic atmosphere. Super homey vibe. Neighborhood families dining & it seems to be family owned. The chef who maybe the grandma & matriarch of the family made our food with love. Cooked to order! Next time I'm here....I'm definitely stopping by with a huge appetite. Until next time...... -

Who doesn't like a Cuban Sandwich? Well we got them over in Gretna. Formerly Holly's it's now the Cubamex and they didn't lose a thing. In fact they may have enhanced it some. Super friendly folks, really good food and the price is amazing. I stopped by for a quick bite and they threw it down good and talked me into getting their Flan and it was quite possibly the best I've had. I'll be back as it has more than just the cubano, they have a lot of goods tot try. Eat it!

I drove all the way from New Orleans to this obscure little neighborhood in Gretna - yelp provided information about the restaurant and gave it good reviews - after getting lost & finding my way with a taste buds in my mouth drooling for a good Cuban sandwich - I touched the front door handle to enter this place of goodness and I was blocked from entering - "Sorry, we're closed," but it's not 3pm on Saturday- the burly man with mingled grey curly hair totally ignored me and locked the door - surely he wasn't privy to the effort it took me to get here and it was obvious he wasn't concerned - this left a really bad taste in my mouth - don't think I'll spend any energy in attempting to return

Food was great, service was good and this older gentleman kept putting on classic Beatles songs which was cool.
I only wish fries came with the sandwich instead of an extra charge and you didn't have to buy bottled sodas individually.
It's a fun little place and we'll back
